Protecting
Your Skin
The
best advice I can give you will not cost a thing and in most cases
takes very little time.
First and foremost be kind to your skin when cleansing and
applying makeup, it is delicate.
If you continue to stretch it, eventually the elasticity will
be lost.
Remember, if your skin looks good, your make-up looks better.
The

The
Sun
Because it is the number one cause of aging and skin cancer I feel it
is imperative that I devote this special section to amplify not only
my thoughts but those of virtually every expert in the field of skin
care.
The ultra violet rays of the sun are the single most damaging
problems for your skin. After excessive tanning or burning the results
are obvious and irreparable. Your skin will produce unwanted lines and
wrinkles years before you expect them. You can rest assured your skin
will be dry, blotchy and feel like “leather”. Since the aging
process excels quickly enough, why help it along?
Be sensible and guard not only your face but the rest of your body
with protective lotions that are fortified with PABA, or PABAfree
sunscreens, vitamins and aloe. Use a sunscreen that is formulated for
the face and a different one that is designed for the body. Both
should be fragrance free, as fragrance can irritate the skin. Also,
wear sunglasses to prevent deep squint lines around the eyes. Another
good idea is to consider wearing a large brimmed hat while in the sun.
As soon as possible after leaving the sun I strongly suggest you
use a rich, greaseless moisturizer and body lotion. Most of all, use
common sense when sitting in the sun. You and you alone know when you’ve
had enough. Be sure to wear sunscreen under your make-up.
Also, eating proper foods may not guarantee a healthy looking
complexion, but improper diet will surely ruin a good complexion.
The amount of sleep you get is as equally important as the food you
eat. Sleep is the time your entire body renews itself and it must be
remembered. You can never recapture those lost hours when the body is
at rest.
If vitamins play an important part in your daily regimen then it
should be remembered that often multi-vitamins contain large amounts
of IODIDE. It is a known contributing factor in stubborn cases of
acne. Be sure to check labels and locate a brand of vitamin without
iodide.
